Thoughtful Design

Designed by renowned architect Leon Bieldt and completed in May 2022, every detail of the lodge has been meticulously crafted for quality, functionality, and environmental sustainability.

A Sustainable Sanctuary

The name “Kaitiaki” means guardian, and the lodge beautifully integrates with its natural surroundings. Powered by a solar array and equipped with an advanced water capture and treatment system, it offers a luxurious experience with a minimal environmental footprint.

Stunning Interiors

As you enter, you’re welcomed by a stunning interior designed by Two Birds Design. Featuring sustainable materials, the space combines dark natural tones with abundant light from floor-to-ceiling windows. The top floor includes the main living area, kitchen, and master suite. The kitchen is fully equipped with state-of-the-art Fisher and Paykel appliances, induction and gas hobs, a large fridge-freezer, and an espresso machine. A new Weber gas BBQ by the pool invites al fresco dining.

Outdoor Entertaining

The kitchen flows into a thoughtfully designed bar area and a spacious kitchen island, creating a social hub. A custom dining table comfortably seats ten, while a bespoke wraparound sofa maximizes the magnificent views of the native bush and ocean. Step outside to a large entertaining deck furnished with lounge seating, automated awnings for shade, and a fireplace for cozy evenings.

Master and Guest Suites

The master suite features a luxurious bathroom and stunning views of the forest and ocean. Completing the top floor is a dedicated office area with desk space and a small water closet. Downstairs, you’ll find the guest suites. A comfortable lounge area with a bespoke sofa and large smart TV offers relaxation, complete with a wet bar and fridge-freezer for poolside cocktails. The laundry area is also located here.

The lower level includes two large bedrooms, bringing the total to four guest bedrooms, alongside the master suite upstairs. Each downstairs bedroom has split king beds, allowing for flexible configurations, and features luxurious bathrooms with walk-in showers and underfloor heating.

Outdoor Paradise

The lounge area opens to a heated pool and hot tub, with ample space to soak up the sun or enjoy the shade under large cantilevered umbrellas. For the adventurous, a 10-acre private nature reserve awaits, featuring a carefully constructed track that winds through the forest. This environment is designed to protect the native plant and bird species, including Tūī, Kererū, Kākā, Ruru, and Pīwakawaka.

Local Attractions

Right on your doorstep, you’ll find exciting activities—Batch winery and restaurant, EcoZip Adventures, and scenic flights are all within walking distance. A short drive will take you to Onetangi Beach, lined with bars and restaurants, as well as the famous wineries and breweries along Onetangi Road. The shops, cafes, and restaurants of Ostend and Oneroa are just a few minutes away, offering privacy while keeping you connected.
